i'm laura. i live in philadelphia. my apartment has blue carpet and four closets. i go to graduate school. i am getting a masters of city planning with a concentration in transportation. i have a hard time with the needless ubiquity of giant parking lots.



i used to live in brooklyn in an apartment with two identical couches, two identical bookcases, a round red rug, a dilute tortoiseshell cat, and my favorite friend, johanna.



i used to work in high finance. i also used to write stories, play music in bars, make silly movies, and paint portraits of my friends to give to them on their birthdays or for no reason.

i plan on resuming these activities as soon as i finish my homework, which will be in approximately a year and a quarter.

here are four things i like:
1) the music of blonde redhead. 2) mint chocolate chip ice cream that is not green. 3) riding buses. 4) the writing of margaret atwood.

here are four things i do not like:
1) most television. 2) pizza. 3) verbal imprecision. 4) the beatles.

i eat a lot of hummus and drink a lot of coffee. i wear a lot of black and own an embarrassment of boots. my birthday is mathematically interesting.
